To help save our customers green, we need an amazing team who knows all about it. Our National Finance & Administration Services department oversees the management of the critical resources and infrastructure that our people need to get the job done at every level. This service department is designed to make sure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance our teams include: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury.

In this role, the Strategic Financial Planning Senior Analyst will participate in the development of long-range plans, strategic business plans, investment analyses, and various other financial modelling activities and will work cross-functionally with the broader FP&A team to support operations and other national departments.

Work Location: Naperville, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2  days per week).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicates and informs leadership of issues, status, and results of assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner. 
• Analyzes existing working procedures and recommends changes and best practices.
• Advises on any changes or actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Informs management of recurring issues or when additional team training may be required.
• Conducts analyses to ensure that financial planning activities are accurate and available to project owners in a timely manner.
• Develops, leads, and documents plans for large-scale strategic planning projects.
• Performs cost-benefit analyses, research-based projects and feasibility studies to support operations and other national departments.
• Supports leadership with conceptualization of state-of-the-art financial planning and analysis tools and processes.
• Maintains, manages, and has a complete understanding of data and reporting requirements.
• Assists leadership in ensuring compliance with established operating policies and procedures.
• Ensures that required and necessary documentation is completed and properly maintained in order to provide substantiation and assistance with future audits or information requests.
• Assists leadership with all project management related responsibilities and communicates the status of projects to all participants.
• Reviews the work of team members and suggests improvements when needed.
• Assists in training and developing team members to retain a motivated and professional workforce.
• Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
• Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understands cost/benefit analysis. 
• Ability to analyze and present complex data visually and comprehensively to leadership.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance required.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
• Experience with SAP, BPC, Analysis for Office, Alteryx, and Tableau preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform duties.
• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.


• International & Domestic travel required.
• Up to 10%.
