Our National Finance & Administration Services department oversees the management of the critical resources and infrastructure that our people need to get the job done at every level. This service department is designed to make sure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance our teams include: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury.
In this role the Fixed Asset Accountant III will be responsible for adherence and integrity of the fixed asset investment planning database. This role will be responsible for financial team deadlines and the analysis of large datasets to perform variance analysis that lead to identification of optimal solutions to team processes. The ideal candidate will have understanding of assets, depreciation and experience exporting/analyzing large amounts of data from different systems with an understanding of ERP systems. The objective of this role is to be able to ensure the accuracy and adherence to fixed asset policies by analyzing data through various measures.

Salary Increases: Year 2 - $100,000 | Year 3 - $105,000

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understands Standard Operating Procedures that govern offshore team’s responsibilities and is responsible for Standard Operating Procedure and training of offshore staff where necessary.
• Reviews team controls.
• Manages first level escalations from offshore team.
• Troubleshoots and investigates escalations.
• Attends weekly offshore calls.
• Serves as a key liaison between ALDI and the outsourcing provider.
• Monitors the execution of asset and lease accounting tasks and ensures quality controls of the financial data prepared.
• Acts as the primary of contact for addressing and resolving any issues identified.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and best practices.
• Prepares, reviews and posts journal entries and reconciliations for various accounts.
• Extracts, reviews, analyzes, and interprets fixed asset investment data and metrics.
• Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Participates in fixed asset investment planning, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis and ad-hoc business analysis.
• Assists in research and resolves reconciliation variances in financial statements.
• Develops, leads, and documents plans for small-scale department projects.
• Monitors and reviews accounting system reports and processes for accuracy and completeness.
• Takes appropriate action to investigate and identify changes to activities that require investigation and partnership with other departments.
• Assists divisions and team members with asset support on various areas including asset and real estate issues including accounting treatment judgement.
• Recommends action or treatment with respect to accounting or finance policies.
• Identifies improvements to standard team processes that require investigation and partnership with other departments.
• Conducts complex ad-hoc analyses with elements of uncertainty or risk.
• Identifies process inefficiencies, recommend and implement solutions.
• Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
• Complies with ALDI privacy and security requirements and policies if job responsibilities include possible access to confidential and/or sensitive information.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience in accounting and shared service roles with a focus on outsourcing management preferred.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
• Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Travel:
• International travel required.
