Internal Communications User Experience Specialist

In this role, the Internal Communications UX Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for our internal digital communications channels, working with their Internal Communications teammates as well as various teams across the company. They will be responsible for bringing the company vision and culture to life through enhancements to our internal digital interfaces, while advocating for the best user experience for all ALDI team members. They will have the opportunity to develop interactive features for the company intranet, establish and maintain internal web content standards, and improve user experience through analytics. The ideal candidate should have an advanced skill set in Adobe Creative programs, CSS and HTML, experience working with an intranet platform or CMS, in addition to a strong attention to detail and a passion for internal communications. The objective of this role is to maintain and enhance our internal digital communications channels, assist with Internal Communications projects and build relationships throughout the business.

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week). 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Maintains internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.
• Coordinates with internal and external teams to plan and organize web content by studying site concept, components, and functionality.
• Audits user experience and content continuously, with the goal of identifying ways to improve and modify site functionality to better serve employees. 
• Establishes and maintains content standards for web properties inclusive of ADA. 
• Stays up to date with the latest industry developments and generates new ideas to draw employee’s attention. 
• Utilizes analytics tools and tracking to better understand user behavior and identify potential issues to improve web experience.
• Manages projects pertaining to assigned business partners. 
• Aligns communications, creative concepts and interactive design with the ALDI master brand and employer brand. 
• Represents the team in independent interactions with assigned business partners.   
• Provides communications project management services to business representatives with limited involvement from their direct leader.  
• Liaises with external vendors and holds them accountable to fulfill communication needs and requests.  
• Assures that required and necessary documentation is completed and properly maintained in order to provide substantiation and assist with future audits. 
• Maintains a thorough understanding of best-in-class Internal Communication practices and keeps leadership informed.
• Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader.
• Complies with ALDI privacy and security requirements and policies if job responsibilities include possible access to confidential and/or sensitive information.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Graphic Arts/Design or a related field required.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. 
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS required.
• Experience working with a digital asset management system (DAM) preferred.
• Experience working with a content management system (CMS) preferred.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. 
Physical Requirements:
• Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs. 
Travel:
• Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
